Supporting Black History Month 2022 at Teachable
At Teachable, we work to support and foster a safe space for our employees and creators year round. In honor of Black History Month, Teachable has some very special programming planned. Internally, our Black Employee Resource Group has planned events, activities, and education throughout the month for Teachable employees. With Black Health and Wellness as this year’s theme, our team will be: “talking about disparities in health outcomes for Black Americans, how that affects us at Teachable as coworkers, how that affects our creators, and what we can do to better support each other in closing that gap.” In addition, our team will be celebrating and spotlighting Black creators and leaders in the entrepreneurial space via our social media and blog.
To help you stay up-to-date of what we have coming up, we created this free Trello board of resources. Here you’ll find a selection of creators to get to know, related articles, podcasts to explore, and charities to support.
Creating change
First on our Trello board, you’ll find a list of real Teachable creators to follow. We encourage you to check out each on social media and view their Teachable schools to show support. This lineup showcases a breadth of knowledge and expertise and highlights some of the amazing work Black creators are doing daily.
You’ll meet creators like Ayana Webb whose online piano training courses are helping students fall in love with music. You’ll also meet pastry chef Carlene Woods who is sharing her love of baking with an at-home audience.

You can also look out for some special guest posts and features right here on our blog throughout the month. Additionally, please stay tuned to our Instagram for some engaging discussions via Instagram Live about what it means to be a Black entrepreneur, building a story and brand marketing, as well as a tour of a creator’s workspace.
Read, listen, and learn
Continuing this year is our selection of articles and essays about Black History Month, the legacy of Black leaders and educators, Black entrepreneurs and thought leaders, and so much more. To accompany our reading guide, we’ve added a selection of podcasts such as Black History Year that our team recommends too.
